The lady lancers’ soccer team has been put through many hardships over the past few years. With constant changes in coaches, and threats of having no season, the girls had decided to take matters into their own hands and made sure to work extra hard to get their well-deserved season.

This year, the returning girls decided to hold their own practices after school, having only themselves to lead and train with the rest of the team. Even without a coach, the girls showed phenomenal dedication and effort. Luckily for the team, however, they now have two new coaches, and hopefully this time, it's for good.

Coach Danny and coach Celia’s arrival provided the leadership and guidance the girls needed to achieve stability and growth as a team. With the addition of new players, along with the returning players, the coaches have been able to form a fantastic team by highlighting each player’s unique abilities and teaching team strategies. With time, it can only be imagined how intimidating the soccer team will become, as they begin to adjust to the new coaching style and faster-paced practices during their preseason.

So far, the girls have only played one preseason game, which was an excellent learning experience for the team. The coaches are confident in their team’s ability to do better after what most will call, a devastating loss to Canoga Park. Regardless, the loss in that game does not define the team’s standing, rather it highlights the need for improvement. Despite the challenges, the team has so much talent and with a little work, the Grant girls will be unstoppable. One thing remains for certain, coach Danny and coach Celia will lead this team to success through wins and most importantly, through the building and development of a unbreakable bond within the team.
