Established earlier this year, Yuli Gershon and Agam Polad joined together to build Jewish Club. Both celebrating Jewish culture and inviting students from across the school to partake in learning about new culture, many students love to participate in their weekly meetings. We spoke with the founders of Jewish Club to get more insight on this new club.

Q: What is the regular routine in Jew Club?

A: A regular routine would consist of having the Rabbi teach the members about the culture and rules, basically the foundations of what it means to be Jewish.

Q: Okay, and how does this club stand out, or what components does it have that differentiate it from the rest of the clubs?

A: Well, the Rabbi brings pizza every week and teaches everyone about the different parts of Judaism as he talks about upcoming holidays, or he introduces the Hebrew Bible to teach everyone about important events that explain the origins of the Hebrew people.

Q: Alright, final question. What is the purpose of Jew Club?

A: The purpose of Jew Club would be to bring people together, to create a tight-knit community, like a family that has a strong bond, especially with all the anti-semitic hate going on. Also, to spread awareness and teach others about the fundamentals of what it means to be a Jew, whether it's through understanding the culture or rules/norms. Although it is not just about learning the fundamentals, it’s also about creating a stronger bond through the Jewish community at Grant High School.

Jewish Club meets every Thursday during lunch in room 128 for those who are interested in joining. There are no requirements, and everyone is welcome to join. If you have any questions, feel free to dm @ghs.jewclub on Instagram.
